Boston Red River wooden rolling pin
The Boston Red River rolling pin is made from black walnut with a red grandis accent. Amish craftspeople in Northern Wisconsin build each pin from laminated solid wood and apply a beeswax oil treatment. It measures 18 inches long and 2.5 inches in diameter.
Red River pairs dark walnut with a contrasting red grandis accent. The laminated wood arrangement runs along the pin, with natural variation in grain and color from piece to piece. Choose this combination if you prefer a darker wood pattern.
Size and everyday use
Use the rolling pin to shape dough for pies, pastries and pasta. Allow room on your work surface for the 18-inch length, and check your drawer or shelf before ordering. All three Boston wood combinations share the same dimensions.
Cleaning and conditioning
After use, wipe away flour and dough with a soft, damp cloth, then towel-dry and let the pin air-dry fully before storing. Avoid soaking, dishwasher cleaning and abrasive pads. When the wood looks dry, apply conditioner according to its instructions. Beeswax and mineral oil conditioner is available separately.
