Hudson Williamsburg round chopping block
Maple, cherry, hickory and white oak form the Hudson Williamsburg chopping block, with walnut adding a darker accent. Amish craftsmen in Northern Wisconsin make this round block from solid wood, with an end grain cutting surface, a 2.25-inch-thick body and a beeswax oil finish.
Mixed woods with a walnut accent
Williamsburg brings several wood tones together on one cutting surface. The walnut accent contrasts with the surrounding woods, while natural grain and color differences give each block its own appearance. Your block will use the same wood combination shown in the photographs, with individual variations.
Pick a diameter for your kitchen
- 14-inch diameter, 2.25 inches thick
- 16-inch diameter, 2.25 inches thick
- 18-inch diameter, 2.25 inches thick
Each size includes a juice groove, finger slots for lifting and rubber feet underneath. Allow room around the full diameter for ingredients and handling, and check your sink and storage space before choosing a size.

Care for the wood
Hand-wash with warm, soapy water, towel-dry and leave the block on edge to air-dry. Avoid soaking and dishwasher cleaning. Apply conditioner when the wood looks dry. Follow our cutting board care guide for cleaning and conditioning instructions. Beeswax and mineral oil conditioner is available separately.

Daily Cleaning: After each use, remove food particles with a nylon brush or dishcloth. Wash with warm soapy water, scrubbing the entire surface, edges, and bottom. Rinse thoroughly, dry with a dish towel, then stand on edge to air dry for at least one hour. Never put your board in the dishwasher, soak it in water, or use steel wool or bleach, as these will damage the wood.
Regular Maintenance: Apply beeswax oil wood conditioner monthly or whenever the board appears dry or dull. After cleaning and drying completely, rub a small amount of oil into the entire surface including edges. Let it absorb for one hour, then wipe off excess. This protective barrier prevents cracking and extends your board's life by maintaining even moisture throughout the wood.
Proper Storage: Store your cutting board vertically or on edge in a well-ventilated area to prevent warping. Keep it away from heat sources like stoves and ovens, and avoid direct sunlight. Never use your board as a hot plate, as heat will damage the glue joints and over-dry the wood, causing cracks.
Remember: Wood naturally expands and contracts with moisture changes. The key to preventing cracks is maintaining even moisture throughout the board. Clean the entire surface (not just the cutting area), oil regularly, and allow proper air circulation during storage. With these simple care steps, your cutting board will remain beautiful and functional for generations.
